You may be feeling overwhelmed—like no matter what you try, the tension at home keeps building, your teen seems more distant, or anxiety and sadness are quietly taking over. Maybe it’s hard to talk without things turning into arguments, or your child is acting out in ways that feel unfamiliar. If you're exhausted by conflict, silence, or emotional disconnection, you're not alone. I help adolescents and families navigate depression, anxiety, behavioral struggles, trauma, and relationship challenges with care and clarity.
If you’re looking for a therapist who quietly nods for 50 minutes, I may not be the best fit. My style is active, engaged, direct, and deeply relational.
I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, life transitions, and difficult interpersonal dynamics. Clients often describe feeling both genuinely supported and meaningfully challenged in our work together.
I believe therapy should help people gain insight, shift patterns, improve relationships, and move toward lasting change not just vent for an hour each week.
Having served clients in Florida for the past 8 years in my work as a clinician and in welfare, my professional and personal philosophy is to meet people where they are. Therapy is a vulnerable journey of healing. I will utilize individualized care and collaboration to make you feel accepted, safe and ready to become the best version of yourself.
One of the most empowering factors in my life has been spending 32 years as an Air Force Military Spouse. This empowered me to grow and learn through lived experiences in diverse groups. I’ve been a clinical social worker and prior substance abuse counselor for 30+ years working in a public agency, private practice, and with the US Army at Fort Carson, Colorado and at SHAPE, Belgium. I work across all ages to include both adults and children. In addition to my MSW in clinical social worker, I have an advanced graduate degree in Infant and Early Childhood Special Education Leadership and a doctorate degree in Curriculum and Diversity Studies.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a licensed professional counselor in Oklahoma. I work with clients of all ages who are experiencing stress and anxiety. I have more than 10 years experience working with families and caregivers experiencing the loss and changes that come with aging or a dementia diagnosis. I am trained as a support group leader for the Alzheimer's Association.
Maybe it started as anxiety, the kind that sits in your chest before you've even opened your eyes in the morning. Or maybe it was something that happened a long time ago that you thought you'd moved past, until you noticed it showing up in your relationships, your drinking, your sleep, your ability to just feel okay on a regular Tuesday. A lot of people who find their way to therapy aren't in crisis. They're just tired of carrying something that's gotten heavier than it used to be, and tired of the ways they've been managing it. If that's where you are, whether you're sorting through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or a complicated relationship with alcohol or substances, you're not unusual. And you're not out of options..
With five years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds navigating grief, loss, life transitions, and emotional challenges. Whether you are coping with the death of a loved one, divorce, health concerns, or unexpected changes in life, I strive to provide a compassionate and supportive space for healing and growth.
