Welcome! My name is Tiffany and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I was born and raised in occupied Tongva land (Los Angeles), and I am the child of Chinese-Vietnamese refugees. I speak fluent English and conversational Mandarin and Cantonese. I am not comfortable with conducting full psychotherapy sessions in Mandarin or Cantonese but am happy to substitute Mandarin or Cantonese words or phrases throughout the session. I was a first-generation college student and a student organizer as an undergraduate and graduate student. I hold a Masters in Asian American studies (ethnic studies) and a Masters in Social Work. I have been practicing as a therapist in community mental health settings as well as acute inpatient psychiatry. I only work with folks 18+. I have extensively worked with formerly incarcerated folks and folks who identified as unhoused, refugee, immigrant, and victims of sexual assault.
I have a bachelor's degree in human services, master's degree in nursing, and am currently licensed as a Psychiatric NP at a psychiatric urgent care, psychiatric inpatient, and psychiatric nursing home. I had been working in mental health field with various roles from crisis mental health coach, psychiatric residential RN, psychiatric emergency and urgent care RN. A majority of my patients have disorder of depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar, trauma, and psychosis.
Hello! My approach is centered in the belief that authentic connection with ourselves and others heals. Therapy is an opportunity to dive deep, to develop greater self knowledge, to come into wholeness, accepting and integrating all of our parts and aligning our lives with our Truth and the fullness of who we are. I look forward to the opportunity to support you.
Hi, I’m Melissa, I have 16 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with warmth, empathy and hope. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, personality disorders, mood dysregulation, relational issues, eating disorders, life transitions, and struggles with self-worth or identity. I have expertise supporting postpartum mothers, active duty service members, professionals, adults, families and adolescents. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Columbia University in New York City. Above all, I believe meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported. Together, we'll work toward helping you create a life that feels more balanced, connected, and fulfilling.
It truly is nice to see you. I am Dr. Tinai James, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the founder of a practice dedicated to the next generation of high-achievers. With over seven years of experience in major healthcare systems, I specialize in supporting youth, teens, and BIPOC college students as they navigate the heavy weight of expectation and major life transitions.
My approach is built on the RCB FrameworkTM: Rooted, Culture-First, and Brave. I believe therapy should be a Brave Space where you don’t have to code-switch to be heard. Whether you are a student facing the "identity shift" of campus life or a parent seeking a therapist who understands your family’s cultural background, my goal is to provide clinical expertise that feels relevant to your real life.
In our sessions, we combine PhD-level clinical science with practical, goal-oriented strategies. We will work together to tackle anxiety and social pressure while building the cultural confidence you need to thrive. I am currently licensed to see clients in Georgia and 22+ states via PSYPACT, offering high-energy, modern care that honors exactly who you are. Let’s build your brave.
Finding and embracing your authentic self is a journey that can be challenging. Figuring out how to cope in a healthy way with what the world throws at us can be difficult. I'm interested in working with you to figure out how you want your life and experiences to be, and how to start making your way there. I've been practicing for over 5 years, working mainly with LGBTQ+ young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, gender, and interpersonal communication issues.
