I've been practicing for over a decade. I received my Master of Science, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University, in Boston, MA. I was also awarded an Outstanding Graduate Student Award recognizing several different criteria, including clinical competence, and development of professional identity.
I have worked with children, young adults, adults, and seniors as an outreach clinician, and in outpatient settings.
I also have experience with adults in MMT settings, and substance abuse counseling.
Most recently, I have shifted my focus to working with adults only (18+).
As a licensed independent clinical social worker, I believe in meeting clients where they are at and helping them to achieve their goals. I am a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (C-DBT) and have extensive experience working with the neurodivergent community, having received certification as an Autism Specialist (ASDCS). I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Addiction Counseling, from Cambridge College in 2014. My journey in the mental health field began in 2012 while I was in graduate school, and over the years I've had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and in a variety of treatment settings. I have experience supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, psychotic disorders, relationship and family concerns, and life's many transitions. No matter what brings you to therapy, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and accepted without judgment. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy because I believe that a strong, trusting relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. You are the expert on your own life, and I see my role as walking alongside you, helping you explore challenges, recognize your strengths, and work toward the goals that matter most to you. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and create lasting positive change. I have extensive experience in community mental health and private practice settings working with teens and adults. I received my Masters of Science in Psychology from Johnson & Wales University. I am licensed to practice in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
