I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to delivering patient-centered care to people of all ages. Throughout the 20 years I have worked in mental health, I have worked with individuals in all stages of the therapeutic journey. I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorders and OCD, in addition to other conditions.
You're the one others turn to: the intuitive, deeply feeling woman who senses everything. Yet inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or pulled out of alignment, stuck in patterns you can’t think your way out of. You want to feel grounded, clear, and able to trust yourself again. I help intuitive women regulate their nervous systems and reconnect to their inner knowing. I also specialize in pet loss, honoring your beloved pet as the cherished member of the family that they are. I support you in processing your grief, staying connected to your bond, and finding meaning as you heal.
Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or substance use challenges begin affecting your relationships, daily functioning, and overall well-being. You may feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, struggling to cope with painful experiences, or unsure how to move forward. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, substance use concerns, stress management challenges, ADHD, anger management issues, cultural and ethnic identity concerns, and major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them or overwhelmed by life's demands. Together, we'll create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can openly explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and develop healthier ways of coping. My goal is to help you gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful changes that support healing, emotional wellness, and long-term personal growth.
As a human being, we are designed for relationships and yet all too often hurt in relationships. Healing emotional wounds occurs through a supportive and positive relationship and environment. In addition to secular counseling, I offer faith-based counseling for those who are Christian and looking for counseling that integrates evidence-based therapies with Biblical principles, and does not espouse any specific denomination.
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, and ADHD across the lifespan, and I work with adults and seniors navigating a range of mental health challenges — including bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorders, sleep difficulties, and more. My greatest strength is building genuine, trusting relationships with my patients. I take the time to listen without judgment, understand each person's unique needs, and create individualized treatment plans that help you feel supported and empowered throughout your mental health journey. Outside of work, I recharge by spending time with my family, traveling, and staying active outdoors.
I’m Emily Light, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I completed my nursing and advanced practice degrees with a focus on psychiatric and mental health care, and I’ve worked with individuals across the lifespan dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions.
Whether you’re navigating a major life event or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer feel sustainable, my goal is to make this process approachable and collaborative. I offer a warm, empathetic, and supportive space to meet you where you are at. I work with anxiety, anger, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and addictive behaviors. My role is to know when to support, when to challenge, ask thoughtful questions, reflect patterns, and provide tools to help you move toward meaningful change—while honoring your unique lived experience.
