Hello my name is Star're (star-rae). As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Holistic Therapist I am passionate about teaching holistic wellness in practical ways that make it easy to incorporate into your daily routine to support your healing journey and overall well-being (mind, body, and spirit). My work is rooted in empowering my clients with the tools and resources that promote their self-healing and growth as I guide and encourage them along the way.
Therapy is self-care. I want my client's therapeutic experience to be the best one possible as I know they are using the small amount of time they have to work on themselves. I am the therapist I would want for myself. I am collaborative, knowledgeable, I help simplify the complicated, put words to experiences, feelings, and thoughts, and guide clients in what to do with their findings. I am the therapist you do "the work" with.
I’m Ashley, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Maitland, FL. I’m a cat mom, Aquarius, and someone who believes curse words are sentence enhancers. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD and more utilizing EMDR therapy, ACT, mindfulness and other tools.
I work with adults who are navigating loss, life, transitions, and moments, when things no longer feel stable or familiar. Many of my clients are high functioning, thoughtful people who are used to caring for others, holding things together, or pushing through – until something shifts and the usual strategies stop working.
My approach is relational, trauma informed, and grounded in compassion. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood. Sessions are collaborative and paste with care, balancing emotional exploration with practical tools to help you, cope, regain clarity, and move forward with intention.
With the background of medical social work, I have extensive experience supporting individuals, facing illness, grief, caregiver stress, and major life changes. I also work with anxiety, depression, relationship, concerns, and the emotional impact of long-term stress or unresolved trauma. I pay close attention to the nervous system, attachment patterns, and the way past experience, the shape present reactions – while staying focused on what feels important to you right now.
Client often describe me a steady, intuitive, and thoughtful. I aim to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and nonjudgmental – where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can be a pace to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin making meaningful change.
I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years and have been counseling for four years. I became a counselor because I genuinely care about what happens to others and I want to help them through tough times. I have a passion for working with the LGBT+, ENM/Polyamorous, minority, and Kink communities. I am proficient in helping with issues related to trauma. I especially love to help empower the oppressed and the people who are made to feel "less than."
