Hello! I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. My approach is rooted in the belief that mental wellness is a collaborative journey, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard.
Areas of Specialization While I work with a wide range of mental health concerns, I have particular expertise in:
- Anxiety & Mood Disorders: Helping clients manage depression, panic, and generalized anxiety.
- ADHD Management: Providing comprehensive evaluations and personalized strategies for focus and productivity.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Supporting individuals navigating the long-term effects of difficult life experiences.
- Medication Management: Using a "less is more" philosophy to find the most effective pharmacological support when needed, always paired with supportive therapy.
I am a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years of healthcare experience caring for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I earned my BSN from Nova Southeastern University, MSN-FNP from the University of South Alabama, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Florida, and Post-Master's PMHNP certificate from Wilkes University.
My background includes intensive care, family medicine, urgent care, oncology, thoracic surgery, correctional healthcare, and outpatient psychiatry. This diverse experience allows me to understand the connection between physical and mental health while providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
I specialize in evaluating and treating anxiety, depression, panic disorder, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, insomnia, stress and burnout, adjustment disorders, grief, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, women's mental health, postpartum depression and anxiety, and life transitions. I also work with individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation, caregiver stress, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
My approach is collaborative, holistic, and individualized. I combine medication management with evidence-based therapy techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and strengths-based interventions. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their journey.
I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you can openly discuss your concerns and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
I chose to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I am passionate about helping individuals improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Mental health challenges can significantly affect every aspect of a person’s well-being, relationships, and daily functioning, and I believe compassionate, patient-centered care can make a meaningful difference.
Hello, I'm Evelyn Butler, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Welcome—I'm glad you're here. I understand that seeking mental health care can be a difficult step, and my goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I believe in listening first and caring for the whole person, not just treating symptoms. My approach is rooted in compassion, professionalism, and evidence-based practice. I take the time to understand each patient's unique experiences, provide education so you can make informed decisions about your care, and work with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. I view mental health care as a partnership, and my hope is that every patient leaves feeling heard, respected, supported, and encouraged
This is a telehealth practice. As a personal choice, the use of narcotics or other controlled (DEA) meds are minimal, if any. I've been a psych nurse practitioner for at least 14yrs. I believe in managing conditions with psychiatric and non-psychiatric treatment modalities that are evidence based. The use of the least amount of meds, at lower doses that does the healing of symptoms, is an active process involving the client and based on the reported experiences. Safety is the core of my practice and my job is to help clients understand internal signals and how to prevent another crisis.
